1. Who we are

Jiajiri, Uajiri 2026 is a nationwide youth economic empowerment initiative organized by Pawa Consultants Limited, in collaboration with Adhahabi Group Limited (together, "we," "us," or "the program"). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data submitted through jiajiriuajiri.com and the program's participant portal.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you:

  • Apply to the program: full name, email, phone number, location/zone, education level, years of experience, business idea, and availability.
  • Complete your biodata as an active participant: NIDA number, date of birth, gender, residential address, alternate phone number, emergency contact details, and business plan information.
  • Participate in the program: weekly check-ins, mentor session records, milestone submissions, and Jiajiri Score history.
  • Contact us: any details you include in messages sent through our contact form or email.

We also automatically record basic technical information (such as pages visited) needed to operate the site securely, and a small amount of local browser storage used to keep you signed in to the participant portal. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

3. How we use your information

  • To review and process program applications.
  • To match participants with mentors and volunteers, and coordinate sessions.
  • To track progress, verify milestones, and score weekly check-ins.
  • To communicate with you about your application, account, or the program.
  • To report on program outcomes to partners and funders, always in aggregated or anonymized form unless you have separately consented to identified reporting.
  • To keep the platform secure and to comply with legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

Your information is shared only with the people who need it to run the program: your assigned mentor or volunteer, and program administrators. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your data may be shared with a third party only where required by law, or where you have given us explicit consent to do so.

Your data is stored and processed in a secured database maintained by Adhahabi Group. We apply appropriate security and confidentiality measures to protect your information, and your data is never used for any purpose other than operating and improving the platform.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a secured database maintained by Adhahabi Group, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access restricted by role, participants can only see their own data, mentors and volunteers can see the participants assigned to them, and administrators oversee the program as a whole. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

Direct (one-to-one) messages in the portal are end-to-end encrypted. When you message another participant, mentor, or volunteer directly, your device encrypts the message before it ever leaves your browser, using a key that only the two people in that conversation hold. Even we cannot read the content of your direct messages. Our database only ever stores the encrypted version.

Group chats are not end-to-end encrypted. Messages sent in group conversations are stored as regular text so that program administrators can moderate group chats for participant safety, resolve disputes, and respond to reports of misuse. Please keep this in mind when deciding what to share in a group versus a direct message.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use only the local browser storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences (such as having seen this notice). We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us using the details below. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your data except where we are required to retain records for legal, regulatory, or legitimate program-reporting purposes.

8. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as you have an active account or participation record, and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy reporting, audit, and legal obligations to our partners and funders. You can request earlier deletion as described above.

9. Eligibility

This program is intended for graduates and adults eligible to work and start a business in Tanzania. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the program evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
